The S2 Vela Satin from PRS Guitars is a vintage-inspired guitar with loads of personality and tonal textures. 2016 marked the 20th Anniversary of PRS Guitars Private Stock and to celebrate, PRS brought back the program that started it all: Guitars of the Month. Since the start of the year, PRS has wrapped up the program with the completion of the 12th and final model.

For December, the twelfth and final 2016 Private Stock Guitar of the Month closes Private Stock’s 20th Anniversary celebration with vigor. In a limited run of only 12 pieces, the Ziricote Hollowbody II Piezo celebrates the beauty and artistry of nature with exquisite wood species and a winter wildlife inlay.

Throughout the 2017 Core Series, PRS Guitars has made several subtle specification changes, including the PRS Patented Gen III Tremolo, a new value-add for the company’s 10-Top models, and a piezo model shake up.

PRS Guitars introduced the S2 Series in the summer of 2013. All S2 instruments are made at PRS’s Maryland, USA factory and look and feel great right out of the box or with the scars and bruises of a cross-country tour.

As part of their 2017 Core Series announcements, PRS Guitars has revamped its longest-running artist signature model: the Santana. The 2017 Santana model is being reintroduced as the Santana Retro, a model previously only available through the Private Stock program.

With endorsements from artists like John Mayer, John Wesley Dearth, and Jimmy Herring, the McCarty 594 saw a great reception in 2016. For 2017, PRS has introduced a single-cutaway version of the 594 as both the November Private Stock Guitar of the Month and a new Core model.
